Christmas Wishes from Allison Joy

One of my favorite activities this Christmas season is listening to Allison mumble her way through Christmas Carols. Really surprised how many tunes this 2yr old knows.

We wish you a Merry Christmas!

Give Me Your Eyes

Leeland and Brandon Heath were doing a concert at the IL Convention. They are both great guys. Brandon was kind enough to sing a song with Kelly Grace back in the green room. She loves the song "Give Me Your Eyes" and was thrilled to get to sing it with him...even though she didn't act excited!

The audio isn't that great, so you can barely hear her. But trust me, it was beautiful!

Illinois

Just returned from an amazing weekend at the Illinois Youth Convention. Paul Hinzman and his team did an awesome job.

I was especially excited to have Kelly Grace travel with me. Stay tuned...more behind the scenes videos to follow!

Welcome Home Mommy

Casey had a great night last night. She is obviously in some pain but she slept well. The doctor felt good about the surgery, and now we wait for the results from pathology - should know something Monday.

Casey is in good hands with her home medical team!

Pre-Surgery

Casey is prepped and ready...except for the IV...after two tries they gave up. They will try it again when she goes in for surgery.

Part of the battle is already behind her. They inserted a wire in the mass that the surgeon will use to guide the incision. Pinched a little...but she was strong!

She is in great spirits...well, kind of. She's mad at me because I won't give her a piece of gum. Just following doctor's orders!

The Unexpected

Two days ago, Casey went to her doctor for what she thought was a simple exam. There was some swelling under her arm but didn't think much of it. After a few pictures and then a few more pictures, the doctor said there was an abnormal lymph-node that was very concerning to her. Twenty-four hours later we were meeting with a surgeon who said there was reason to worry.

Now, less than 48hrs since the first visit, we're at Cox South preparing for surgery. They will remove the mass and then have the results back Monday.

We're so thankful for amazing friends and family who are covering us in prayer! And extremely grateful for a faithful God who is in complete control.

I will attempt to update you as often as possible. Thanks for checking in!

Casey is Home from Haiti

Casey just took a trip to Haiti with a group from JRA. They were visiting the 1,000 children that our church is sponsoring through Mission of Mercy. It's just the latest step in our journey to honor God's heart as we care for orphans.

I'm so thankful for the friends who helped me in my role of Mr. Mom this week as I watched my four girls and tried to keep up with the excitement of Realife. I especially appreciate Renda, Laura, Noel, Paul and Julie, Greg and Kai, and Tom and Leslie. Needless to say, it was a team effort.

Here is a short clip of true manna from heaven. Thanks, Dick!

Summer Vacation

We just returned from a trip to see my grandparents and other family. It was an absolute blast. We captured a few clips...some on the airplane, a portion of the services at my grandparents' church and then Kelly Grace giving a little word at the church where I was raised.

Bedtime Chats About Missions

I love the bedtime conversations with our daughters. The funniest comments, and sometimes deepest insights, come from those times.

Tonight, Candice shares how God is honoring her efforts to raise money for missionaries. It was worth me getting the laptop to record...and it's worth a couple of minutes for you to watch.

Raising Money for Missions

If at first glance this video doesn't seem too spectacular, look a little more closely. Candice and Kelly Grace set a goal to give $5,000 to missions this year. Inspired by Overflow, they decided they wanted to write a book for children to teach them about giving.

Today was the photo shoot for the pictures that will go in the book. It's a blast to watch God plant seeds of compassion in the hearts of children at such an early age. I'm thrilled that my daughters are growing up thinking that it's "normal" to give generously and sacrificially so that others can experience the love of Christ.
