Church at the Gibbons' Home

There are times when circumstances (like recovering from back surgery) keep you from attending church as a family. That is a great opportunity to have a little family worship at home. We just finished a great Sunday morning of services (3 to be exact) where our three oldest girls each got to lead a service.

I thought you might enjoy a little media ministry so we captured a few minutes of one of them. Be blessed and may your home always be a place of worship.

There's No Place Like Home

It's great to be home. I'm so refreshed and blessed by the smiles, giggles, and hugs from my girls. They're still trying to figure out why I can't hold them, or why they can't crawl on me or wrestle like we usually do. At least I can tell them that in a few months I will be able to do more with them than I ever have!

Casey has been more than amazing during this whole process...which doesn't surprise me. She is such a giving and caring person. I totally can relate to Proverbs 18.22 where it says "he who finds a wife finds a good thing". I found a great friend, competent help-mate, beautiful wife, and nurturing mother of my children when God brought Casey into my life. No wonder I'm so glad to be home!

A Timely Word

God always gives us the right word at the right time. The night before surgery, Casey and I were praying and God led me straight to this:

"Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise His holy name. Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits - who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's." Ps.103:1-5 (make sure you check out the video...Kelly Grace surprised me with a healing song! For more videos, scroll down.)

Leaving the Hospital

The Texas Back Institute is a sharp place. The staff and facility made me feel at ease and well cared for while I was here. Once I get to the hotel, I will get settled and then plan on sharing some cool stories of how God has helped me during my time here. (for automatic updates, click on the RSS link to your right.) Please keep praying!

Up and Moving!

This progress is unbelievable! We started our day at 5:00 a.m., went into surgery by 7:00 a.m., came out by 8:45 (see videos below for arriving and prepping for surgery), and I was up walking by 9:00 p.m. with my new disc. Some people look at this and marvel at medicine. I look at it and think "Our God answers prayer!" Can't wait to share with you some of the stories from the hospital . . .stay tuned!
